La Plage Trailer (2010)
La Plage is a dance work set to new music composed specifically for the piece linked with ambient recordings of train stations in Catalonia and France. The action is set in an imaginary train station, a metaphorical setting for people in transition.Individual pieces of music and dance serve as vignettes of people passing through the station, chance encounters and partings and greetings. Time is non linear and suggests different eras, passengers coming and going through the present and the past. The score serves as the dramaturgy for the work, suggesting different atmospheres and rhythms within the metaphorical setting.
La Plage is an international collaboration of artists. The score is being composed by a group of musicians based in New York, the choreographer, dancers and designers are based in Barcelona.
