Biography

Julia Maria Koch is a dancer and choreographer, who has worked internationally as a performer with renowned companies such as Staatstheater Darmstadt, Dance Theater Robert Solomon, Operahouse Liceu Barcelona, Festival Castell de Perelada, La Veronal, Flamencos en route, Compañia Plan B, and others. As a choreographer she has obtained her degree in choreography and dance-techniques at the Conservatory in Barcelona ( Institut del Teatre, IT), has worked as a movement consultant for Ridge Theater at the Brooklyn Academy of Music ( BAM) and has presented her own work, which includes three evening-length productions,one short formate piece, a solo and a dance-film, in venues like the Baryshnikov Arts Center( BAC) of New York City, the Sant Andreu Teatre( SAT) in Barcelona, the Uferstudios in Berlin, the Teatro Conde Duque in Madrid, the International Festival for contemporary Theatre in Alexandria, the Arte Laguna Prize in Venice, the Sarajevo Winter Festival, the Solo-Tanz-Theater Festival in Stuttgart, the Gdansk dance Festival and many more. With her choreographies and her dance-film "Solarliod" she was finalist and won several prizes and special mentionings in many international choreographic competitions and festivals. She was also selected in 2016 for the prestigious booking-network Red Acieloabierto in Spain.
